Allow for "misread" plates to forward to the correct plate.
I have a neighbor with a plate that is consistently misread, sometimes correctly as 2RTE888 and often incorrectly as 2RIE888. It would be nice if I could mark the 2RIE888 as a known misspelling of 2RTE888 and it would automatically correct.
One way the record could be created is when editing a plate read, it could create a “correction" entry in the database that could then do it automatically for future misreads of that plate.

I’ve corrected about 10K+ plates in my database, and would love to have this feature. Would improve the app significantly for me.

This is a bit tricky, and I would still raise the fact that this is something that should be dealt with on the AI side of things, but I can recognize your situation, and it seems this neighbor is really erking you since you marked it as essential haha.
What I think I might do is add a sameAs or misreads json column to the known plates table. This would let you add one or more other plate numbers to the same known plate record. The app will still keep the plate number received from the AI, but will add your known plate name and tag (if applicable) to it. You can still search by name or tag and find all instances including misreads. I don’t really want to add rewriting, as it adds complexity to the ingestion and just feels like a bandaid solution. You can still use the revise all feature if you don’t want to keep the misread plate numbers.

I have been renaming the records in the database, but the next time it reads the wrong version of the plate it creates it as a new record with no tags and shows it as a low count.
I think for this particular plate, there's an obstruction that makes the front plate read as an I and the back plate as a T (or vice versa, I don't remember).
For another neighbor, they have a disabled plate that sometimes reads the DP portion as the letters DP and other times just drops it. I'm using Plate Recognizer but even if its AI is really good, it can make mistakes with obstructions, lighting changes, night plates, etc.
Rather than treating these as different plates, I'd like for there to a way to say, the correct plate is this and the wrong plate is that. If a during ingestion, the wrong plate is detected, I just want it to show the details of the correct plate and the total count should be for the correct plate. The dashboard should show the correct plate too.
I was thinking ingestion would be the easiest way to do it since you could quickly check the “redirect" record table and then insert what the record should be recorded as and the live feed and the dashboard would be correct. If someone does a rename, then it would automatically (or optionally) create a redirect record for future ingestion.
I'm open to other solutions too obviously, and don't want to complicate things but basically I don't want to see the “wrong" record on any of the screens if it's been corrected once.
Tell me more about what those screens would look like with your proposed implementation? Maybe it's good enough?

That is true that it would not have the correct count. I’ll work something out to rewrite them.
